About Our  Study

We are looking for individuals age 40-80 years old with chronic neck pain to participate in a new research study investigating the feasibility of augmented reality sensorimotor training with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to treat symptoms of chronic neck pain.

What is Augmented Reality?

Augmented reality are glasses that are worn that allow for digital objects to be projected onto the environment around you.The sensorimotor training involves making neck movements to align your sight to targets projected onto your environment. The goal of this task is to encourage goal directed movements of the neck during an engaging activity.

Time Commitment

Your time commitment will be 4 assessment visits and up to 20 treatment visits.

The treatment portion of the study will take place for 3-5 days per week for 2-4 weeks.

You will also be asked to come in for assessments before, immediately after, and 2 weeks after the intervention.

You will be provided parking vouchers for each of these visits as well as a $25 gift card for completing the study.

This study has been reviewed by the Hamilton Integrated Research Ethics Board (REB # 16310).
